Pathways to renewable and efficient local/ regional energy systems
The project which is partly financed through the EU programme Intelligent Energy Europe, focuses on Pathways to sustainable energy systems in the European setting. The idea is to develop a step-by-step assessment which can evaluate and define pathways to renewable and efficient energy systems based on real data from local/regional energy systems.
The development of the assessment tool is based on a number of municipal case studies to which an assessment of institutional and technical barriers and possibilities is applied. Thus, the action focus on the Pathway towards sustainable energy systems by taking departure in a detailed description of the present system and analysing and assessing the possibilities and barriers when transforming the energy system over bridging systems toward a more sustainable system. The case studies are Göteborg (SE), Valencia (SP), Dunkerque (FR), Gdansk (PL) and Arnhem and Lochem (NL).
